Medicare Qualifications for Power Wheel Chairs

• Patient must be unable to walk a short distance or non-ambulatory
• Patient must not be able to operate a manual wheelchair – severe weakness of upper extremities.
• Patient is unable to operate a Power Scooter
• Patient must have one or all of these:
• Lung condition
• Muscular disease or condition
• Neurological
• Heart Attack
• Heart Condition
• Severe Upper Body Weakness due to arthritis or other conditions
